I did an initial inspection of a beautiful 308GTSi last week. The problem was I don't really fit in it. I am 6'-4" tall, my right knee hits the steering wheel and my head was a good inch or so over the windshield. The dealer mentioned these cars were designed primarily for the Italian market and I guess they are not quite as tall as a general rule. They also told me by taking out the roof panel from behind the seats you can get a little more space to slide the seat back. I am going to check it out again and try this, but I am curious if there are any other tall drivers who own this model and what experiences good or bad you have had fitting in the drivers seat?

Thanks

The dealer was pulling your leg! Or stupid! Or both!!

The 308GTSi is a bit tight for you [6'4"], but other models, particularly front engine V-12's have plenty of leg room.

Try looking for a 308 GT4, or a Mondial. The front seats have lots of travel and can slide all the way back, to the point of touching the rear seats. Thus, they can accomodate tall drivers.
