My 88 Testarossa ( Bosch injection) started doing crazy things. It starts fine and high idles steady. But when it begins to warm up the idle speed goes up and down and up and down and then the engine dies. When it first started to do this it would go away after I drove it for awhile. Now it does it all the time and makes it nearly imposible to drive in city traffic and dying at every stop light. It runs fine just motoring along but it won't hold a steady idle while stopped. Cold idle injector stuck? Bad O2 sensor? Fuel pump? Dirt in the system?
I got to drive it once a week or my idle doesn't work right either. Can someone help PLEASE.

It does sound like an injection problem. Throttle control is old fashioned cable actuation, so not a "drive by wire" problem. When the idle fluctuates, does the exhaust look black or smell rich? Could be stuck cold start injector or defective thermostatic switch that controls this. Try disconnecting cold start injectors as the engine warms. Difficult to diagnose without seeing this firsthand.
