What have people done to upgrade wheel/tire combos on 1986 328 GTS from the stock sizes to 17's or 18's?

What works/doesn't work?

Anyone have specs (i.e., offset, backspacing, hub bore)?

Goal: maximize rim/rubber width without clearance issues.

Thanks in advance from a newbie...

This is a tough one to figure, I have a 1986 328 and looked
for wheels that would fit. All Ferrari's have the same wheel
bolt size 5 X 108. The offset varies considerably. The 328
offset can be found on the inside of the wheel +15, it is stamped
on the inside, easiest is to look at is the spare, it's usually clean.
The real problem is the offset, if it isn't right bad things happen.
I finally just had my original wheels redone and they look great.
I would have loved to go to a bigger wheel tho. but the downside
is a rough ride.
